The Texas/Oklahoma TCC Chapter met via Zoom on Jan. 16. Chuck Eisemann asked the group in what part of the world was there a large concentration of countries besides Caribbean and Europe. Jordan Hargrave mentioned Indonesia. After some research, I discovered that within Indonesia is Bali, Papua, Sulawesi, Sumatra, and Maluku. Inside Malaysia is Sabah, and Sarawak. Brunei; Kalimantan, Borneo; Timor-Leste; and Papua New Guinea are relatively close.
Sylvia Hanna-Russell and Mark Russell talked about their very interesting trip to the five “Stans” (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan).
Donna Bloedorn told the group that when she was having dinner in a Turkish home, she complemented the hostess on her beautiful china. To her surprise, she was given a cup and saucer on her departure. She later learned that is a Turkish custom.
Future Texas/Oklahoma Zoom meetings are scheduled for April 3, July 10, and Sept. 25. All meetings will begin at 2 p.m. Central.
Stay safe.
