December 2020 Canada Chapter Zoom Call to Focus on Marathon Running Around the Globe

Hello World Travelers,

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to visit such out of-the-way places like North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Rwanda and Mongolia? Likely many of you have been. But can you imagine running a 26.2-mile marathon while you visited?

Well, two fascinating, energetic, well-traveled TCC members — Gloria McCoy and Steve Fuller — have some stories to tell! While I am a marathon runner/ traveler of sorts, Gloria and Steve take these both pursuits to a new level!

Former TCC President Gloria McCoy has run over 115 full marathons and 300 half marathons. She runs fast and has won and placed in her age group many times, including the San Diego and Los Angeles marathons. She and Steve Fuller ran the Pyongyang North Korea Marathon together.

Current TCC Board Member Steve Fuller has run 234 marathons and has visited 282 TCC countries and territories. Antarctica, Myanmar, Greenland and Everest base camp are just a few of Steve’s race locations. He and I ran the Reykjavik Iceland marathon together in 2017.

Mostly Steve and Gloria will talk about their far-flung race exploits and I will chime in with a bit of a Canadian perspective on my marathons in destinations like Argentina, Tokyo and Hungary.

In advance of the Dec. 5 Zoom  call, I dug out some Centurion articles for some background (links below):

Our last Zoom call of 2020 will be Saturday Dec. 5th noon EST.

Please RSVP to be part of the call with an email response to me and I will send you the Zoom call link.

Should be a very interesting call. Hope everyone is well and hoping for travel opportunities coming our way in 2021!

Warm regards,

Rick ShaverTCC Canada Chapter Coordinator
