Northern California Chapter Weighs New Venue Options During December Meeting

Speaker Paul Lavoie and Director Margo Bart at the December 2018 Northern California meeting

Fifty members and guests attended the December 2018 Northern California Chapter meeting at Trader Vic’s in Emeryville. Speaker Paul Lavoie took us on a photographic tour of San Pierre & Miquelon, Laayoune, Western Sahara, and Prince Edward Island, and the limited ways to travel there.

Two of our traditional restaurants — Spenger’s and the United Irish Cultural Center — have closed their doors or dropped food and beverage service. We are seeking replacements, and held a membership discussion  about what members would like.

Our next event is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco. The program will feature a presentation about New Guinea by speaker Wendy Arbeit. For more information, email
