The Indiana Chapter had another excellent meeting on Saturday, July 9, 2016. The activities began with an enjoyable reception and lunch, during which time the members exchanged travel stories and anecdotes. After a fine lunch, we heard and saw an excellent presentation by Don Knebel about Moorish Spain and Morocco.
The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Seasons 52 restaurant. It is located at 8650 Keystone Crossing, which is close to I-465 on the north side of Indianapolis. TCC members and other avid travelers are invited.
We are very pleased to have Dr. Rick Bein as our speaker on the topic, “Papua New Guinea, its environment and culture.” Dr. Bein, with his wife Maryellen, has attended chapter meetings. He received his Ph.D. in Geography and has been a professor in the Department of Geography at IUPUI since 1993. In 1996-1999 he was on a leave of absence to serve as Director of the Environmental Research and Management Center at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology. Among his many awards, he was a Fulbright Scholar.
