Area Coordinator Donna Marsh reports that the TCC United Kingdom chapter met on April 24 at Tuttons Vaults, Covent Garden, London. Besides the UK members, John Barnett attended from Ireland and Sarka Kinclova came from the Czech Republic.
The speaker was Gunnar Garfors, author of 198 – How I Ran Out of Countries. Donna says his presentation “focused on a wide range of geographies that captured the interest even of our group of seasoned travelers. He also talked about his travel style, especially about talking to and learning from local people, rather than focusing on guidebooks.” After the presentation member discussions ranged from changes in travel entry rules in the US and Canada, and the ongoing debate about what constitutes a TCC country.
The next TCC UK Meeting will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6, at a Persian/Iranian restaurant in central London. More details will follow soon.
