I’m happy to announce that we’re planning to have our next TCC chapter meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Marys Seafood & More Restaurant in St. Augustine. The venue is a popular regional restaurant featuring local Florida seafood and more, and is conveniently located just a few minutes off I-95 exit 323 (705 Hortons Trace, St. Augustine, FL 32095; 904-547-2578). This St. Augustine area location is easily accessible to TCC members on the Florida/Georgia I-95 corridor as well as central Florida locations such as Gainesville, The Villages and Orlando. (This is the same I-95 exit as World Golf Village and Buc-ee’s St. Augustine; it is also about 20 minutes from the St. Augustine historic district.) I hope you can fit this event into your holiday season plans!
While we don’t currently have a specific speaker/presentation set up for this meeting — it is open for any members who would like to do a brief presentation on any of their recent travels. If you would like to volunteer for this please contact me as soon as possible. If there are not any volunteers I would be happy to give a short presentation on any of our recent travels in 2023 including Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan (all four major islands), Denmark, Norway, United Kingdom, France, Luxembourg, Andorra and Spain. In addition, since Russ and I owned and operated a cruise-focused tour operator business for 30 years, we would be happy to share tips and information on specific cruise related topics including river cruises, expedition cruises, repositioning cruises and more. (We’re not in the business any more so we won’t be trying to sell you anything!) Please let me know if any of these topics are of interest or feel free to suggest other ones.
Members will also be able to share their latest and upcoming travel experiences with fellow travel enthusiasts while enjoying some great local Florida cuisine. Dress is casual, and everyone will be responsible for their own check. Please RSVP to chapter coordinator Susan Rosenberry (crus.sun@gmail.com) about your attendance as soon as possible, but no later than Dec. 8 so that we can have enough seating.
I know Dec. 12 is in the midst of the busy December holiday season, but we hope you’ll be able to fit it into your schedule. Whether you live in the Northeast/Central Florida or Southern Georgia area or in another part of Florida, you are welcome to join our luncheon meeting. We look forward to sharing “Around the table, around the world.” And suggestions for special topics, guest speakers, presentations and possible venues for future meetings are also encouraged.
