On Tuesday, Jan. 24, the Northeast Florida/Southeast Georgia Chapter had a fun and productive luncheon meeting at Maggianno’s Italian restaurant in Jacksonville, with 13 attendees — a new record for this burgeoning chapter. This was the group’s first meeting organized by the new chapter coordinator, Susan Rosenberry. This very well-traveled group was eager to meet in person again and share travel stories and plans for upcoming trips.
During the “Around the Table — Around the World” segment, many members reported that they have already been very active with “post-COVID” travel, and some upcoming destinations are as varied as Antarctica, Japan, Southeast Asia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, West Africa and more.
The discussion also focused on ideas for future meeting locations, dates, formats, and topics with the goal of having at least two more meetings this year. Dates and locations will be announced in the next couple of months after also conferring with other chapter members who were not able to attend this meeting. This group is looking forward to more fascinating dialogues and sharing of travel experiences and tips in the future.
