January 2023 Meeting in Texas Featured Extraterrestrial Adventures of a Former Shuttle Astronaut

The Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana TCC Chapter met at the Lakewood Yacht Club on Saturday, Jan. 14.

Special guests were recognized: Linda Abraham-Silver, Executive Director of the Perot Museum in Dallas; Ray Wong Hongrui, founding member of the TCC in China; and Mike Foreman (former astronaut and our speaker) and his wife, Lorrie.

We recognized our “super” travelers: Jordan Hargrave (193 UN and 282 TCC), Larry and Diane Mathis (Gold 200), David and Rennett Mitchell (Gold 200), and Philippe Theys (Gold 200).

We showed pictures from members’ trips that were from a “C” destination.

Ray gave his report on China TCC and invited us to visit their chapter.

Mike Foreman gave a fabulous talk on his two space shuttle missions, 637 hours in space, and five spacewalks for a total of 32 hours and 19 minutes. Mike added that he orbited our beautiful planet a total of 421 times. He graciously answered questions for 20 minutes. Although Mike has retired as an astronaut, he is serving his second term as mayor of Friendswood, Texas.

We had 32 members attending.

May your next trip be the best ever!
