Twenty-three members from eight countries attended the Central Europe regional meeting in Prague this June. Coordinator Armin Schreiner thanks country hosts Šárka Kinclova and Jirka Prasil for their meticulous organization. They “Czech’d” all of the boxes.
Member presentations included: Saudi Arabia 1977 (Joachim von zur Gathen), historic South Africa (Patrick Dewilde), São Tomé and Principe during corona times (Uwe Bussmann), Chengdu—Tibet—Nepal 2017 (Armin Schreiner), Oceania Chapter’s trip to Norfolk Island (Robyn Antill) and Mauritius 2019 (Verena Tauchert).
Chapter quiz wizard Reinhold Baer got members thinking with wine regions, island silhouettes, “find the oddballs,” and climate charts. Per Besson emerged as the champion with Joachim von zur Gathen and Patrick Dewilde in second and third place. Winners received the typical Czech life-pack including truly giant cookies and Becherovka.
