Seven of our group gathered on July 15 at Maggiano’s in Town Center, Jacksonville, for 90 minutes of talk about travel. Not much was said about recent travel, since few had been anywhere recently (my recent trip to Yemen and Afghanistan was an exception), but lots about eagerness to get moving again, with specific plans including a “one of a kind” voyage from Oslo to Nome via the North-EAST Passage, to be taken next summer on a National Geographic ship. Susan and I plan to visit Easter Island in late October; and spend the month of January in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia (including a one-week Backroads biking trip between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai) – both trips of course being virus dependent. Others are still just in the planning stage.
It was an enjoyable discussion and we all agreed that it would be nice to meet again this winter.
