This image captures the Yangon I experienced — a mix of traditional and contemporary, English and Burmese. This young man is carefully balancing two platforms of freshly picked citrus. Most likely, he is taking his products to the market. In Yangon, Myanmar, sidewalk tea shops spill into the street. Longyis (sarongs), thanaka (moisturizer), a Buddhist monk, and traces of the digital age are part of the picture. I’m not sure what downtown street it is, but it was busy.
HONORABLE MENTIONS

Despite the current challenges in Lebanon, two women enjoy a breezy bicycle ride along the Beirut waterfront. The sunset from this seaside park, while enjoying the most delicious food in the world, is truly unforgettable. The outdoor cafés in Zaitunay Bay and the variety of architecture truly describe why this beautiful city is called the “Paris of the Middle East.”

No picture of Times Square in New York is still, even at night. City life in the Big Apple doesn’t stop with yellow cabs waiting for the light to turn green. Construction diverts both people and cars. McDonald’s, Disney, Broadway, and several brands excite people with so many options on what to do next.
